We lined up for a free roasted pork in the boulevard one night. It was said it was the city mayor’s birthday and she was giving away free lechon to the people. Wow, we’ll have some lechon for dinner then, we thought. No wonder the boulevard that night was unusually packed with people from the city and from the neighboring towns. Policemen and police cars that night too were roving here and there.
Lining up for free lechon started with a mango-craving. To buy some green mangoes really was our purpose of going to the boulevard that night but we were surprise by the crowd. We did buy some green mangoes and since we were already we thought why not go for a plateful of lechon?
Expectantly, with the many people pushing each other to be the first in the line, we didn’t get to even taste the delicious and crunchy roasted pork skin. We thought of getting some pork barbecue instead in a BBQ hut nearby. We ordered barbecues to go to eat dinner together with papa. Before leaving the BBQ place, I took a shot of these dried squids that are ready for a grill.
Pretty looking dried squids on sticks! Have you tried grilled dried squid? How does it taste? I haven’t tried grilled dried squid, only fried and I loved it. As much as I wanted to , I didn’t dare buy a stick for it was expensive at 60 pesos per stick.
